Where Cetina kisses Mediterranean

Welcome to Omis, small Dalmatian town on the river Cetina, only 39 km from Makarska and 25 km away from Split. A unique blend of the Cetina River, the sea and the mountains, pirate history and rich cultural heritage, sand and pebble beaches.

Fortica, via ferrata starts from the Croatian town of Omis, located on the shores of the beautiful Adriatic Sea, is a pleasure you must try. The ascent begins at Kapelica at only 15 m above sea level and leads you 400 meters along the second ridge of the Omis Dinara all the way to the foot of the Fortica fortress, after which this ferrata is named. The fortress is located at 250 m above sea level, which makes an altitude difference of 235 meters. What makes this ferrata special is the unique view it provides and which gets better with each passing meter.

The view of Omis and the beautiful Adriatic Sea is truly fantastic, but what is the main feature is the canyon and the mouth of the river Cetina and is a sight that is simply not seen every day. We visited Via Ferrata Fortica in September because the weather at this time of year is ideal for this climb, the temperatures are not too high and the sea temperature is still pleasant and swimming is simply an integral part of this tour. We visited and enjoyed the charms of the Omis Dinara located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea.
